An estimate of tuition, fees, and living expenses has been compiled on the UBC Sauder website for the FT MBA. You can view these here: FT MBA Tuition Fee Breakdown

Your tuition will be divided into four equal installments which are due on the timeline below. The exact amount of tuition and student-levied fees as well as payment deadline will appear on the UBC Student Service Centre (SSC) prior to each month that tuition is due.

Dates Domestic Students International Students
September 2019 $12,112.24 + student fees $20,014.82 + student fees
January 2020 $12,112.24 + student fees $20,014.82 + student fees

September 2020 $12,112.24 + student fees $20,014.82 + student fees

The $2,500 CAD MBA Program deposit that you paid to accept your offer of admission to the UBC MBA will be credited toward your first tuition installment (September 2019). This amount will be transferred to your tuition account in mid to late August. From this point forward, all of your tuition payments will be done through the Student Service Centre (not the web site where you paid your initial deposit).

Please visit the main UBC student services web site to learn about available tuition payment options and instructions.

The first tuition installment deadline will be in the first week of classes in September 2019. Exact dates will be published on the UBC Student Service Centre (SSC) in late July / early August so please ensure you log on to check your payment deadline. In addition to your tuition, there will also be student-levied fees charged by UBC for each installment. Student fees go towards covering the goods and services you receive from the UBC Alma Mater Society (AMS), including Extended Healthcare, your UPass (transit pass), access to the UBC Pool etc.

You can view UBC's policy on fees for full details.

Financial Hold

A student may be placed on financial hold as a result of outstanding indebtedness to the University, including tuition and student fees, parking and library fines, and Student Housing & Hospitality Services fees. Please note the following:

The financial hold will be removed once the outstanding balance, including all penalties, is paid in full.

Awards & Scholarships

Award Payments:

Please note: Entrance Scholarships will not appear on the UBC Student Service Centre (SSC) until mid to late August.

If you were awarded an Entrance Scholarship you would have been notified in your letter of acceptance to the MBA program. All awards and/or scholarships will be paid toward your tuition and any residual amount will then be issued to you by cheque or direct deposit. Once tuition installments for the upcoming term have been published, an e-mail will be sent to you directing you to your account on the SSC. Once logged in, you can select the offered award and follow the online instructions to accept the award. Only after the award has been accepted will the award pay out to the student.

Normally, awards are paid out using the following payment schedule:

  • Under $1,000 - paid out entirely in one term
  • $1,000 - $5,999 - divided equally and paid out in two terms
  • over $6,000 - paid out over the three terms of the year (34% in September, 33% January, and 33% in May)

Awards & Scholarships:
Besides Entrance Scholarships, there will be a number of awards & scholarships available throughout your MBA program. All Full-time MBA students will automatically be considered for the majority of these awards & scholarships (i.e: they will not require an application).
If an award does require an application, all students will be notified by the Robert H. Lee Graduate School. Application information will be shared via the announcements on this program site.

If you are a recipient of an award during the program, you may set up direct deposit or pickup the cheque from UBC Enrolment Services in Brock Hall.
