Some of the most common services are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Explaining<strong>\u00a0tuition and student fees<\/strong>\u00a0and advising on best methods of payment<\/li>\n<li>Financial assistance planning, specifically on\u00a0<strong>student loans<\/strong>\u00a0and the\u00a0<strong>UBC Bursary<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Setting up a budget and\u00a0<strong>exploring additional resources<\/strong>\u00a0as needed (private loans, emergency funding).<\/li>\n<li>Workshops with respect to successful\u00a0<strong>budgeting<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Advising on\u00a0<strong>student records\u00a0<\/strong>and documentation<\/li>\n<li>R<strong>eferrals<\/strong>\u00a0to other resources on campus<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Graduate students are welcome to contact any member of the Enrolment Services team. This amount will be transferred to your tuition account mid- to late-August.<\/p>\n<p>\n<\/div><h3 ><a href=\"#tuition-payments-fees-2\" >Tuition Payments &amp; Fees<\/a><\/h3><div id=\"tuition-payments-fees-2\" class=\"accordian-shortcode-content \" ><\/p>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #78be00;\"><strong>VIEWING YOUR TUITION FEES<\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n<p>Once your registration has been completed by the RHL Graduate School in mid-June, you will be able to see a breakdown of your tuition and student fees on the <a href=\"https:\/\/ssc.adm.ubc.ca\/sscportal\/servlets\/SRVSSCFramework\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Student Service Centre (SSC)<\/a>. Once you're logged in just click on the Student tab, then Financial, then SFM Account.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #78be00;\">PAYMENT INSTALLMENTS<\/span><\/h5>\n<p>The <strong>first tuition installment is due by no later than <span style=\"color: #319b42;\">Friday, November 6, 2020<\/span><\/strong>. You can pay tuition before this date, but must submit it by this deadline.<\/p>\n<p>Your tuition will be divided into three equal installments which are due:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #319b42;\">November 6, 2020*<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #319b42;\">January 7, 2021*<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #319b42;\">May 12, 2021*<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #808080;\">*Dates subject to change<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Visit the UBC tuition web site to learn about allowable <a href=\"https:\/\/students.ubc.ca\/enrolment\/finances\/paying-tuition\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">methods of payment<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>International Students <\/strong>with questions about paying tuition to help secure their study permit should contact David Sage at UBC International Student Development for guidance. Details on how to contact David can be found under the \"Study Permit\" section of the <a href=\"https:\/\/canvas.ubc.ca\/courses\/46833\/external_tools\/9444\">International Students section of this site<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #808080;\"><em>NOTES:<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em><span style=\"color: #808080;\">All of your tuition payments must be done through the<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/ssc.adm.ubc.ca\/sscportal\/servlets\/SRVSSCFramework\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Student Service Centre (SSC)<\/a>,\u00a0<span style=\"color: #808080;\"><strong>not<\/strong> the website where you paid your initial deposit. You can log into the SSC using your CWL Username and password.<br \/><\/span><\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><span style=\"color: #808080;\"><strong>Credit Card Payments:<\/strong> Due to UBC policy,<\/span> <span style=\"color: #808080;\">only your initial $1,000 tuition deposit may be made by credit card. Subsequent tuition payments <strong>may not<\/strong>\u00a0be made by credit card.<\/span><\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><span style=\"color: #808080;\">All students are responsible for keeping up-to-date in paying tuition and student fees until the completion of their program.<\/span><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #78be00;\"><strong>STUDENT LEVIED FEES<\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n<p>In addition to tuition, there will also be <a href=\"http:\/\/www.calendar.ubc.ca\/vancouver\/index.cfm?tree=14,267,784,0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">student-levied fees<\/a> charged by UBC which will be included in each installment. The exact amount of tuition and student-levied fees as well as the payment deadline will appear on your record on the <a href=\"https:\/\/ssc.adm.ubc.ca\/sscportal\/servlets\/SRVSSCFramework?TARGET=https%3A%2F%2Fssc.adm.ubc.ca%2Fsscportal%2Fservlets%2FSRVSSCFramework\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">SSC<\/a> prior to each month that tuition is due.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>MM Specific Student Levied Fees<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>There are two specific fees for the MM program that will be due in their entirety with the first MM tuition installment in September:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>MM Student Society fee<br \/><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Sauder Buliding fee<\/strong>: All Sauder students pay the UBC Sauder School of Business Building Fee. This is a student levied fee passed through student referendum to help finance the new building.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>To view a breakdown of tuition and student levied fees, check the itemized list attached to each installment on the <a href=\"https:\/\/ssc.adm.ubc.ca\/sscportal\/servlets\/SRVSSCFramework?TARGET=https%3A%2F%2Fssc.adm.ubc.ca%2Fsscportal%2Fservlets%2FSRVSSCFramework\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">SSC<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\n<\/div><h3 ><a href=\"#tuition-reimbursement-3\" >Tuition Reimbursement<\/a><\/h3><div id=\"tuition-reimbursement-3\" class=\"accordian-shortcode-content \" ><\/p>\n<p>Should you decide to withdraw from the MM program program, below is the deadline schedule and percentage for tuition reimbursement. If you were awarded an Entrance Scholarship you would have been notified in your letter of acceptance to the MM program.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #808080;\"><em><strong>NOTE:<\/strong> <\/em><\/span><span style=\"color: #808080;\"><em>Entrance Scholarships will be applied to your account and appear on the SSC in mid- to late-August.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Most scholarship money will be automatically credited to your student account soon after the due date. As the system knows of any pending awards, you will not be penalized if your fees have not been paid by the due date. However, if your award amount is less than the total amount owed, you must pay the difference by the fee deadline to avoid late charges.<\/p>\n<p>Students are encouraged to check their financial record on the <a href=\"https:\/\/ssc.adm.ubc.ca\/sscportal\/servlets\/SRVSSCFramework\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Student Service Centre (SSC)<\/a> for confirmation of scholarship installment amounts and dates. Normally, awards are paid out using the following payment schedule:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Under $1,000 - paid out entirely in one term<\/li>\n<li>$1,000 - $5,999 - divided equally and paid out in two terms<\/li>\n<li>over $6,000 - paid out over the three terms of the year (34% in September, 33% January, and 33% in May).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #78be00;\">BURSARIES<\/span><\/h5>\n<p>If you find yourself in financial distress and unable to meet tuition\/living costs during the program, UBC Enrolment Services has a <a href=\"https:\/\/students.ubc.ca\/enrolment\/finances\/awards-scholarships-bursaries\/ubc-bursary-program\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">bursary program in place<\/a> for students with Canadian citizenship, permanent resident status, or refugee status.<\/p>\n<p>Eligibility for bursaries will not guarantee that the full amount of unmet need is covered.
