The Master of Management (MM) provides a comprehensive broad-based education in business and management. Through a combination of theoretical and practical teachings, numerous teamwork experiences, and applied projects, knowledge and skills will be gained that can be leveraged to forge a successful career and move toward becoming a future business leader<\/p>\n
Below you can find an overview of what to expect until the start of your program<\/strong><\/p>\n Onboarding Timeline for the MM<\/a><\/p>\n \n<\/div> MM Classic Class of 2023 Academic Program Calendar<\/a>\u00a0(Posted April 1, 2022)<\/em><\/p>\n WHAT'S DIFFERENT ABOUT THE MM?<\/strong><\/p>\n NOTE:\u00a0Due to the set curriculum,\u00a0successful completion of every course is\u00a0mandatory<\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n UNIQUE ELEMENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n The following three courses run across several periods and are taken in addition to regular courses:<\/p>\n BA 520: Career Development\u00a0Programming (CDP)<\/strong><\/p>\n Working with the\u00a0Hari B. Varshney Business Career Centre<\/a>\u00a0and dedicated career coaches, MM students gain valuable career and professional development skills through a curriculum that includes: self- assessment, research techniques, resume and cover letter writing, interviewing and networking. CDP is a crucial component of the MM degree and will aid in finding employment prior to or after degree completion. CDP will provide the necessary tools for continuous professional development.<\/p>\n BA 511: Community Business Project<\/strong><\/p>\n The Community Business Project (CBP) combines community service with academic learning. During the project period, the CBP engages MM students in collaborative project work that enables application of classroom knowledge to real-world consulting projects with non-profits and social enterprises in the greater Vancouver community.<\/p>\n The CBP builds community partnerships with organizations and community-based initiatives with strong social impacts. Through this course, students give back to their local communities by providing free business consulting services to organizations and projects that make a positive contribution to our local and global communities, citizens and environment.<\/p>\n BA 551: Capstone Course<\/strong><\/p>\n The Capstone course is\u00a0the finale of the MM experience. Working in teams, students will complete an intensive simulation that will test their ability to make business and managerial\u00a0decisions. Capstone will apply the different concepts and skills learned throughout the program in a simulated environment.<\/p>\n \n<\/div>\n MM Classic Class of 2023 Program Schedule<\/a> (Updated May 11, 2023)<\/em><\/p>\n Exam Schedule<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n NOTES:<\/strong><\/p>\n Students are required to attend all classes and mandatory career professional development sessions during each Period. Students can miss up to 20% of each course and can apply for an academic concession for their absence. More information on academic concessions can be found under Academic Regulations<\/a>.<\/p>\n Dates for workshops, info sessions, make-up classes, and exams can change with limited notice.
