Hello! My name is Kimberly Fama and I am your designated IMBA Librarian.<\/p>\n

Everyone has different interpretations of what a librarian does and all the more when there is no access to the physical library. For now, all you have to remember is that I am always here to provide support if you have any questions on business research.\u00a0 In your program, research is vital in producing valuable insights that will bring your output to a whole new level.<\/p>\n

I know that research takes time and time is scarce. I understand this because I was in a similar situation as you are, where I was taking my MBA classes weekends and nights as I was working eight-ten hours a day. It's not because I am a librarian that I am telling you this, but from my experience (when I was halfway through my Masters) I realized that doing research actually saved me more time that I can imagine. The more I read, the more I had something smart to write about! I was very sure about my recommendations as I was synthesizing data off actual articles and reports written by internationally recognized analysts and authors.<\/p>\n

So, please give me a chance to blow your mind with the resources we have available throughout your program at UBC Sauder!<\/p>\n

\nI like to make videos because I think it is a better way to show and tell our databases here at the David Lam Library. Remember to check back as I will upload regularly throughout the term, timing it with courses which I think will be a great fit with our selected databases. Citing<\/a><\/h3>

Citing is necessary\u00a0to give credit to others for their work and ideas as you are borrowing<\/strong> their information for your work. Also, citing high quality sources shows that you know what you\u2019re talking about, making your work and conclusions more credible<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

I have made a quick guide that will allow you to get a sense of what citing is like. In this document, I only focused on electronic sources and there are many links I have included to give you more direction in citing them.<\/p>\n
