Library & Research

The Library is your virtual gateway in accessing quality research data. As Canada’s leading academic business school, your assignments and projects require you to find high quality information that will give you valuable insights in this highly competitive industry.

PMBA Librarian

Hello! My name is Kimberly Fama and I am your designated PMBA Librarian.

Everyone has different interpretations of what a librarian does and all the more when there is no access to the physical library. For now, all you have to remember is that I am always here to provide support if you have any questions on business research.  In your program, research is vital in producing valuable insights that will bring your output to a whole new level.

I know that research takes time and time is scarce. I understand this because I was in a similar situation as you are, where I was taking my MBA classes weekends and nights as I was working eight-ten hours a day. It’s not because I am a librarian that I am telling you this, but from my experience (when I was halfway through my Masters) I realized that doing research actually saved me more time that I can imagine. The more I read, the more I had something smart to write about! I was very sure about my recommendations as I was synthesizing data off actual articles and reports written by internationally recognized analysts and authors.

So, give me a chance to blow your mind away with the resources we have, only available through your program at UBC Sauder! You can find my contact info in the next section: Important Links.

Citing

Citing is necessary to give credit to others for their work and ideas as you are borrowing their information for your work. Also, citing high quality sources shows that you know what you’re talking about, making your work and conclusions more credible. In addition to the links below, check out the citing videos and other handouts found on the MBA guide’s citing tab.
