About Me

My name is Ryan M. and this is currently my 4th MET course.

I am a grade 7/8 teacher in Thunder Bay, Ontario. This is my 9th year of teaching. Outside of teaching, my wife and I are juggling a 6 month year old and a 2 1/2 year old. It surely keeps things interesting between work, home and this program.

I completed my Bachelor of Education and Arts here in Thunder Bay. I also completed a Multimedia Production diploma here in Thunder Bay as well.

My interest in computer (educational) technology probably could be traced back to when my brothers and myself would take our Atari apart and rebuild it. As well as, using and building BBS’s in the late 1980’s on a dial-up connection. I have taken a number of online additional qualification classes over the years and feel fairly comfortable working and studying in this type of environment.

I am always looking for opportunities to embed forms of technology into my classroom. I have come to realize that some technologies just complicate the learning process and have little value added possibilities.

I look forward to partaking in the SOUL learning approach to this course.
