    • Understanding that we currently live within a heteronormative and capitalist driven society, Halberstam reclaims the spaces and narratives that have been deemed as failures – low culture, and queer art – in her book, “The Queer Art of Failure”. As a future educator, I believe that queer spaces – those outside of heteronormative/capitalist frames – have the ability to subvert the existing structures that we construct knowledge in. I feel that this is a resource that would undoubtedly help supplement my understanding of inquiry, and help foster a more critical mindset, and intention for when I enter the classroom.
