My name is Ajay and I am taking this course primarily to hone my writing skills. I had graduated a few years ago from UBC’s Sauder School of Business and have been working in the professional realm for the past few years. Currently I work for Lululemon as a Budgeting Analyst. I love anything that involves creativity and business. Another reason I’m taking this course is that I plan on applying to grad school. I haven’t fully decided which program I’m interested in applying to, however I plan on knowing that midway through this semester. My favourite course while I was at UBC was Business Strategy. I am a very conceptual learner and love the idea of using strategy to gear the direction of a business. I hope to combine some element of this in my future career path. Working at Lululemon has shown me the value that I give towards work-life balance. It has been the first time where I feel that a company cares more about their employees well being and overall happiness than they do about their bottom line. I have a very entrepreneurial side that loves the freedom to experiment and think outside the box. One of the main reasons I want to go back to school is so that I have the ability to climb higher up the corporate latter without thinking that I might reach a point where I simply don’t have the qualifications. I have a great deal of experience in writing professional documents, however taking a course such as this will give me a greater edge while also helping me complete my grad school applications.
