Formal Report
The process of researching, organizing, and writing the formal report draft was a lot of work, but was also a great learning experience. Planning and executing the formal report draft took a lot of time management, and made me realize the importance of this. When writing papers using research that is already available, the time to gather the data is not factored in. This was a big change when gathering our own data. Not only do we need to create the material, but we also need to find participants for the surveys. This was a process that I ultimately underestimated the timing of.
Once I did collect my data, I was glad to see that for the most part, it confirmed my opinions, and what I was expecting. Analyzing the data was not a challenge for me, as my background in business helped me to look at the data objectively. Once I came to my conclusions using the data, writing the rest of the report was not difficult for me.
Peer Reviewing
The process of peer reviewing is something that I find to be a great tool, not only for our counterpart, but to learn about our own writing. I often find great aspects of my classmates works that I want to emulate in my own writing. When you are not the owner of the work, it also makes it easier to objectively find the aspects that we do not like. Once we have identified these, I find it easier to go into my own work and search them out, to be changed. Overall, I found the peer review to be a great tool once again.
