If you want feedback for your submissions, submit your assignments by the due dates listed below. If you don’t need feedback, then feel free to submit your assignments over the weekend following the respective due dates.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/td>\nReflection paper (2 papers, total 30%<\/strong>)<\/span>: On 2 Fridays of your choosing, submit a 2-page reflection on that week’s readings and movie (if applicable) by 11:59 pm on those Fridays. The reflection should be 2 pages, double spaced, submitted to Canvas. Exclude Weeks 1, 7, and 14.<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\"\"<\/td>\nDiscussion questions (3 sets, total 15%<\/strong>)<\/span>: For 3 classes in different weeks (based on sign-ups), submit a discussion question for each class regarding the readings\/movie assigned for that class. These questions should be open-ended, and spur conversations about the relevant topic that day. A complex question can take on multiple parts as follow-ups. Questions should be submitted to Canvas by 11:59 pm the night PRIOR<\/strong> to the relevant class. At least one set must be submitted prior to Reading Week. More details discussed in class and on Canvas.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\"\"<\/td>\nDiscussion responses (3 sets, total 15%<\/strong>)<\/span>: Submit 3 sets of responses to discussion questions posted onto Piazza. Each set should address 1 discussion question from one class. Responses must be posted onto Piazza under the list of questions for the corresponding class by 11:59 pm on the Friday of the weeks corresponding to your chosen classes. At least one set must be prior to Reading Week. Discussion responses cannot overlap days with discussion questions.

\"\"<\/td>\nFinal project (39%<\/strong>)<\/span>: The final project must be submitted by 11:59 pm on April 16<\/strong> to Canvas. Appropriate options for the final project will be posted onto Canvas. If you’d like to do something else other than what have been suggested, let me know! For examples of previous final projects, please see this<\/a> for some examples.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\"\"<\/td>\nTCPS2 CORE (1%<\/strong>)<\/span>: Please complete the Tri-Council Policy Statement ethics tutorial by February 14<\/strong> in case your final project involves interviews or other research\/research-adjacent methods. Please access it here: https:\/\/tcps2core.ca\/welcome<\/a>. If you had already completed this for a previous course\/work placement, then you can submit that version to satisfy this requirement.

\n*All written work for this course MUST be written independently and reflect your own work and thoughts. UBC subscribes to the Turn-It-In system, which compares submitted work to other sources on its database (including work submitted by your peers) to check for potential plagiarism. Plagiarism is a serious offense, and shall also be dealt with seriously. All reflections and final projects papers will be automatically submitted to Turn-It-In through Canvas through its Turn-It-In integration.<\/p>\n
