Mentor a student with an Autism Spectrum Disorder

Applications are now open for students interested in mentoring students with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD e.g., Asperger’s or Autism).

As a mentor you will provide guidance to a UBC student with an ASD, working on strategies to enhance their independence and inclusion in the campus community. Commitment is approximately two hours a week.

While undertaking a fulfilling and important role, you will also receive valuable experience and develop skills that can contribute towards a career in this field. All mentors are required to undertake training facilitated by leading experts in the field, Dr Anthony Bailey and Dr Path Mirenda.

Background knowledge of ASD or experience in behaviour therapy or education is considered an asset. Preference will be given to third year undergraduate or graduate students.
