{"id":1639,"date":"2017-03-02T14:51:28","date_gmt":"2017-03-02T21:51:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/access\/?p=1639"},"modified":"2017-03-02T14:54:21","modified_gmt":"2017-03-02T21:54:21","slug":"workshop-inclusive-campus-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/access\/2017\/03\/02\/workshop-inclusive-campus-project\/","title":{"rendered":"Workshop &#8211; Inclusive Campus Project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Inclusive Campus Project invites students with disabilities to participate in a 2-3 hour workshop that will help address issues related to <strong>accommodations on campus and at the clinical settings. <\/strong>Participants must be:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a student with a disability (visible and invisible)<\/li>\n<li>19 years of age or older,<\/li>\n<li>registered as a student in one of the targeted UBC professional programs (including, but not limited to: Audiology and Speech Sciences; Clinical Psychology; Counseling Psychology; Dental Hygiene; Dentistry; Food, Nutrition and Health; HKin; Law; Medical Laboratory Sciences; Medicine; Midwifery; Nursing; OT; Pharmaceutical Sciences; PT; Social Work; Teacher education), and,<\/li>\n<li>will experience academic and clinical (practicum) work this year<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>During the workshop a practitioner with a disability will share their experiences and answer questions. Students will also have the opportunity to discuss strategies related to accommodations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Refreshments and snacks will be provided. The workshop will be held in late March 2017.
