{"id":1835,"date":"2022-02-02T11:16:42","date_gmt":"2022-02-02T18:16:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/access\/?p=1835"},"modified":"2022-02-02T11:16:42","modified_gmt":"2022-02-02T18:16:42","slug":"abbvie-ibd-scholarship-program-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/access\/2022\/02\/02\/abbvie-ibd-scholarship-program-2\/","title":{"rendered":"AbbVie IBD Scholarship Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Did you know that Crohn\u2019s disease and ulcerative colitis are most frequently diagnosed between the ages of 15 and 30, with the typical onset being in the early 20s?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A recent study found that 69% of people who had Crohn\u2019s disease or ulcerative colitis when they were young were delayed in completing their post-secondary education.<\/p>\n<p>The AbbVie IBD Scholarship Program recognizes the obstacles faced by students living with Crohn\u2019s disease and ulcerative colitis and supports them in rising above their personal challenges in pursuit of their dreams.<\/p>\n<p>Supported by an educational grant from AbbVie, Crohn\u2019s and Colitis Canada will extend <strong>15 <\/strong>one-time scholarships of up to <strong>$5,000 <\/strong>to students living with Crohn\u2019s disease and ulcerative colitis who are entering into or currently attending a post-secondary educational institution for the fall semester of 2022.
