Project Description

This project investigates methods for improving user experience, when it comes to secure physical access to smartphones. In particular, it aims:

  • (Phase 1) to identify security and usability requirements for continuous authentication on mobile devices, by studying users’ experiences with Google Smart Lock for Android (SL) as well as
  • (Phase 2) to design and evaluate UX for a typical continuous authentication solution (referred as “CAuth”). Both, the study of requirements and the evaluation of CAuth UX are done empirically, by employing user studies. The design and evaluation of CAuth UX will be informed by the understanding of users’ experiences with SL.
