For Mentors and Mentees enrolled in this year’s program, we invite you to our kick-off event on Thursday, January 26th at the Performance Theatre in the AMS Student Nest. Registration begins at 6:30 and dress is business casual. See you there!
ACSA is bringing an exclusive opportunity for co-op students to learn about essential networking skills! On January 17th in room 301 of the Iona building (6000 Iona Drive, UBC), students will have the chance to join ACSA Executives and a panel of professionals to learn about this topic.
Panelists joining us include Shagufta Pasta, Educator at the Career and Experiential Learning – Arts Centre for Student Involvement and Careers, and Eric Gustavson, Constituency Assistant for the Honorable Harjit S. Sajjan, Member of Parliament, Vancouver South. Keep an eye on our ACSA Facebook page for additional panelists and full bios! Click this link to see our Facebook event page.
The event will run from 6:00 to 7:00 pm. It will include a short presentation that covers the key elements of networking, followed by a Q&A session where students will get a chance to interact with our panelists.
The event is free for ACSA members. Annual ACSA membership is $10 and can be paid at the door. To register, please keep an eye out for an email that will be sent by the Arts Co-op office.
We hope you can join us!
Your 2016/2017 ACSA Executives
We have extended the deadline for mentors to register for the Mentorship program until December 5th. Click here to register!
Still haven’t paid your ACSA membership fee yet? We will be accepting payment until December 21st when you pay in person at the Arts Co-op office (Buchanan C121). Please note: if you have signed up for our Mentorship program, you must pay your fees to participate!
Getting your first co-op work term can be challenging but there are tips to make the process easier. Incoming co-op students, apply to the ACSA Mentorship Program by November 25, 2016 to learn how to build your resumes and cover letters, network, and confidence during your first interview opportunity from senior co-op students and alumni!
The program matches an incoming co-op student with a senior co-op student or an industry/alumni mentor. You will get to learn more about the co-op program and the opportunities that are available to you after graduation.
Unfortunately, our November 16th networking event has been cancelled. Stay tuned for more events in second semester.
Thanks to the 100+ students who showed up and made our first Professional Development event a huge success! Good luck on your Co-op intake interviews!
Welcome to the new online home of UBC’s Arts Co-op Students’ Association! Stay tuned for updates, swag and exciting events!
