Ever since I was in high school, being a part of a musical ensemble has been a part of my life. I have had many amazing experiences as a musician, and I hope to bring these experiences into the classroom with me.
Ever since 2002, I have been a member of the Laudate Singers chamber choir, under the direction of Lars Kaario. Through this group, I have gained much exposure to music from the Baroque, Classical, and Romantic eras, as well as many new compositions that have been performed for the first time by our group. Also with Lars, through Capilano College, I have toured twice through Europe, and have sung in such amazing locations as the Dom Cathedral in Salzburg (where many of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s works were first performed), the Barcelona Cathedral, and Notre Dame in Paris.
Through my time at UBC, I became one of the founding members of an a capella group called Sonic Boom, and I was a soloist a concert simply titled the Schütz Project, which was performed in March 2011 under the direction of Charissa Bagan.
I also held the post as the principle bass in the St. Andrew’s United Church Chamber Choir from 2006 to 2009, and in 2012, I was honoured to be the guest soloist at the Coquitlam Chorale’s Spring concert. Most recently, I was the bass soloist for Capilano University’s Spring 2014 performance of Mozart’s Requiem.
