Now record your numbers in the following google form.<\/p>\n

M & M Colour Data<\/a><\/p>\n

Compare your totals with your group members.<\/p>\n

Answer the following in your work package.<\/p>\n

Do you and your group members all have the same probability (chance) of picking a blue M & M? \u00a0What about a brown one? A red one? An orange one? A yellow one? A green one? \u00a0Why or Why not?<\/p>\n

You will now go through Part 2<\/strong> in your M & M Probability Packet<\/p>\n

In order to complete this you will need a little bit of information that you have learned in past units. \u00a0Here are a few reminders you may find helpful.<\/p>\n

Fraction:<\/strong> To write your M & M colours in fraction form you need to remember that the total number of M&M’s of 1 colour is going to be your numerator. \u00a0The total number of M & M’s in your package is the denominator. \u00a0So if I have 7 blue M & M’s and there are 18 M & M’s in my package my fraction would be 7\/18. \u00a0Don’t worry about reducing fractions to simplest form.<\/p>\n

Percent:\u00a0<\/strong>remember that when we find the percent we divide the numerator by the denominator.<\/p>\n

\"Part<\/a><\/p>\n

Remember to fill out the percentage for each colour in this google form.<\/p>\n

M & M Percentage<\/a><\/p>\n

Here is all the data from our class. \u00a0You will need this information to fill out the last column “Class %” \u00a0The number that goes in this column would be the “mean”.<\/p>\n

Mean:<\/strong> an average. \u00a0To find the mean you add up all the numbers for each category and then divide by the total number of responses. You will need to find the mean for each colour. \u00a0Please use a calculator do do this.<\/p>\n

Now its time to conduct some experiments with your M & M’s. \u00a0Follow the instructions for Part 3. \u00a0<\/strong>Be sure do complete Section A & B<\/strong> including Trial 1 & 2<\/strong><\/p>\n
