Application Package

The Application Package assignment consisted of five components:

  1. The Original Job Posting
  2. A Cover Letter
  3. A Resume
  4. Three Requests for References
  5. A Link to My LinkedIn Profile

The Job Posting laid out the position requirements, indicating which skills and qualifications were sought after by the employer. The Cover Letter and Resume portions of the assignment could be tailored to target specific requirements in the job posting. The Cover Letter was written to the hiring manager, outlining the skills and experience that I possess as the applicant. The Resume component of the assignment was similarly written to highlight the skills and experience I possess. This is a concise document, meant to convey the required information such that it can be easily scanned for important details within a few seconds. The final component of the assignment consisted of drafting several requests for references. These were letters addressed to three past co-workers requesting a reference to provide with the application.
