Today we had our EDUC440 Aboriginal Education in Canada class in the First Nations Longhouse. I really enjoyed the workshop and it was inspiring to be in such a beautiful building. Though I learned a lot, I was also left with a lot of questions. Hopefully we will have some time next week to discuss them.

  1. How can I incorporate the First People’s Principals of Learning daily?
  2. How can we categorize these learnings into a quartered concept circle (see above) with four sections that represent the ideas they envelop?
  3. Is it possible to incorporate art or crafts into lessons about Aboriginal culture? How do I not make this into cultural appropriation?
