We were introduced to quite a few picture books today that I absolutely loved! As a child I was a voracious reader (I still am today given some free time!), and these books made me remember how wonderful picture books are.
- Nokum is My Teacher – David Bouchard & Allen Sapp
- A dual language book (English & Cree) with thoughtful, incredibly detailed illustrations.
- Rosie’s Walk – Pat Hutchins
- The instructor presented this book to us by covering half the page, only revealing the full story to us later. The illustrations are so funny!
- Stella Star of the Sea – Marie-Louise Gay
- I love the ocean and stars, and this book combined both these things. A very imaginative book!
- The Arrival – Shaun Tan
- We only got a little teaser, but the storyline drew me in.
- Tuesday & Mr. Wuffles – David Wiesner
- These book are both unique and strange (in a good way!). I love his imagination and detailed illustrations.
- Just a Second – Steve Jenkins
- The layout of this book is so appealing and neat!
