I earned my B.Sc. Honors degree in Molecular Biology and Genetics at the University of Guelph (Canada).
In my master’s degree at the University of Guelph, I examined the correlation between genome size variation and cellular, organismal, and life-cycle traits in insects. In my PhD at the University of British Columbia, I examined the diversity of microsporidian (fungi) parasites in the environment and characterized a novel microsporidian species infecting a marine nematode.
