The concept of global warming was created by and for the Chinese in order to make U.S. manufacturing non-competitive.

With the US Presidential Elections getting more and more heated, along with the storm of backwards and sideways comments coming out of one particular candidate’s mouth, I thought it would be interesting to focus in on a certain inaccurate issue (among the many) that Donald Trump is raising. And no, these are not fake tweets…
Throughout the last 3-4 years, Donald Trump has said some strange, and downright outrageous things about climate change, including that it was completely inexistent. He has even changed his views back and forth, claiming that his above tweet (Nov 6, 2012) was a “joke”, but later stating that again, climate change was a hoax. Regardless of which direction Trump wants to now make his stance on climate change, 65% of his supporters deny human-caused global warming.
Sure, I might be a Canadian who lives in Canada- but the beliefs of the potentially future (I hope not) President of the United States will greatly affect our country and the rest of the world. Take for example, in 2013, when Trump sued (unsuccessfully) to block plans for wind turbines in Scotland that would power 65,000 homes because they would hinder the view of his proposed golf course. This was his actions just as a business man- imagine the power he would yield as president!
I want to highlight an interesting thought about Donald Trump’s campaign. He seems to ‘change’ his beliefs in different ways to sway his main audience’s votes in his direction. In some ways, he is reverse-greenwashing when he continually goes back and forth on his beliefs regarding climate change (depending on which audience he is speaking to). It’s quite clear that he will say almost anything to gain votes, because again, 65% of his supporters do not believe in climate change. Even though he has said he “maybe thinks it might exist”, and as much as I hope he actually has adapted his views on climate change, it is not what Trump believes that is important- it is his actions and what he SHOWS that is important – especially for the global community.
Snowing in Texas and Louisiana, record setting freezing temperatures throughout the country and beyond. Global warming is an expensive hoax!
