After completing my formal report draft, I feel I learned more in regards to how to research, organize and write a full report surrounding a topic of interest. In terms of researching, I learned how to find and utilize primary data research in order to support my topic. By doing this, I was not only able to learn more about my topic, but was able to utilize this research in order to strengthen my paper. I was able to gain more expertise on my topic too by doing research.
In terms of organizing, I learned that with a clear organizational pattern throughout a paper, it allows the reader to become less confused and more interested in the writing. In other words, it allows readers to stay focused, and draw connections between the paragraphs throughout the paper. Throughout my formal draft, I utilized this learning and organized my paper with headings and subheadings. By organizing my paper this way, it allows readers to understand the material better, and allows myself to express my ideas in different paragraphs.
In terms of reviewing peers, I have learned that by reading and providing feedback to others has improved my own writing. Through the peer review process, I am able to view and understand my strengths and weaknesses more in depth. Moreover, when feedback is given from peer-review, I am able to work on my mistakes more, and learn from them.
