– the new iPad mini
On my first day of my first business class, I found it overwhelming with the huge amount of laptops, especially Apple Macbooks, brought to lecture. I remember back in high school, my teachers would ban us from bringing electronic devices to class. At university, it is actually encouraged.
As technology has become so advanced over the decade, the market for laptops has increased exponentially. Many students no longer bring pencils and notebooks to class as they feel a laptop is much more convenient to write down notes and do research online at the same time.
However, the market is once again changing, and fast too. As the iPad mini and more and more tablets are being released, the shift to bringing tablets to class rather laptops is becoming more popular among students. Personally, I currently bring my iPad to school everyday. There are two reasons why I prefer a tablet over a laptop. First, a tablet is much lighter to carry than a laptop. Second, I only use the device to go on the web if I need to; I am rather old-schooled and I still prefer to write notes on pen and paper. I think these reasons are enough to tell why the trend for tablets will be growing strong.
