The term “e-business” was coined by IBM’s marketing and Internet teams in 1996. Electronic business (e-business), also known as e-commerce, is the\u00a0way companies use to sell goods and services via the Internet. The past several years have seen an explosion in the world of business technology. Electronic business methods enable companies to link their internal and external data processing systems more efficiently and flexibly, to work more closely with suppliers and partners, and to better satisfy the needs and expectations of their customers.<\/p>\n

Some common e-business applications are\u00a0domestic and international payment system, enterprise content management, group buying, automated online assistants, instant messaging, newsgroups, online shopping, onling banking, electronic tickets.\u00a0For example, Scotia Bank has mobile app for its online service, which is also called\u00a0E-bank.\u00a0Customers are allowed to use\u00a0smart phone to\u00a0operate online transaction processing\u00a0where they\u00a0can cancel and add services, funds transfer which make it much more convenient to transfer accounts than going to ATM, and other bank activities.<\/p>\n

But\u00a0one\u00a0issue people worry about e-business is the safety or security. Modern\u00a0electronic commerce typically uses the\u00a0World Wide Web, so the potential safety hazard is\u00a0quite big because\u00a0all people\u00a0can enter your company’s e-business system\u00a0and hit it.\u00a0Therefore you you need to set up all your bells, whistles, snooping devices and other security measures.<\/p>\n
