This tour documents the landscapes and some of the research sites in Sphinx and Sentinel Bays, observed on a trip to set up monitoring plots in August, 2022. We are expanding this for a more immersive tour in Storymap and new 360 tour software (3DVista) during the 2023-4 Grant cycle. Wait for it!<\/p>\n<p>Thanks, Nina Hewitt<\/p>\n<h5>Instructions:<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>In the \u201cTOUR WINDOW&#8221; launch full screen with the icon, top right (esc to exit);<\/li>\n<li>Click the black arrows * to move forward or backward to the next\/previous scene.<\/li>\n<li>Click the \u2295 icons to see popups of\u00a0 focus scenes or species in each scene.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>There are 3\u00a0 different routes &#8211; one that takes you along the north edge of Sphinx Bay to hike the &#8220;Garbage pile&#8221; and back; one that takes you to the <em>Salix<\/em> experimental warming site along the south edge of the bay; and the other that takes you to Sentinel Bay, to the <em>Sedge<\/em> meadow sites and up toward the Sentinel glacier viewed from the Glaciology huts, built by Geog prof and glaciologist Ross McKay.<\/li>\n<li>Most of the scenes are 360\u00b0 photos. Use your cursor to scroll around them to explore the landscape and to reveal popups.
