There are a few risks and challenges that may come with the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics system. There is the possibility that employees of DataMed are resistant to change. Though the probability of this is low, the severity is medium. The mandatory training that will communicate the benefits to DataMed’s employees and how the system will also decrease their overall workload.

There is a low probability of integration failure, however, if it occurred, the severity will be high. Because, DataMed is working with IT Consultants and Microsoft to develop a solution that is specific to DataMed’s requirements and needs, this challenge will seize to exist.

There is also a medium probability of the risk of breaching the confidential patient information (hacking, data loss, stolen, or missing). The severity of this is high. However, this challenge is mitigated through securitization of information through password access only and firewalls built around databases for DataMed Employee access only.
