In today’s rising generations it is almost the norm to have multiple social media accounts, linking millions by the click of a button. Today’s kids are being nurtured by a screen, hoisted by their parents, as children watch YouTube videos to replace books. Now imagine this, all the quality time you’ve spent as a family in front of a screen, you had a visitor lurking in front of you, with no invitation.
A cell phone is one’s life in compacted into a device. Now imagine your life being in someone else’s hands as they encrypt malware into your device and steal all of your pictures, valuable credit card information and watch you through the tiny camera on your device.
On September 1st, CNN released an article stating more than 250,000 Apple IPhone accounts have been hacked. Though only jailbroken IPhones were corrupted, this gave Apple a scare.
Apple spent the summer creating a new software and released it shortly after the hack. The creator of the new software (iOS 9), Chaouki Bekrar, sent a statement saying he “is prepared to pay out a total of $3 million to as many as three hacking teams or individuals for successful attacks” on the new iOS 9 software.
It infuriates me that someone would put others at risk just to prove their point. These type of bold statements make me wonder, “Will I be allowed to sue Apple, if they get hacked and my information and/or identity is stolen?”
