Biography

Hello, my name is Amy McCoan. I am a Registered Nurse working at Hilltop House in Squamish, B.C. I graduated from the University of British Columbia in 2012, then acquired my Emergency Nursing Specialty from the University of Mount Royal. I have recently obtained my nursing registration in Ontario and plan to move there in the fall of 2023.

With 11 years of nursing experience, I will attempt to pivot my career toward leadership and education in hopes of continually inspiring organizational and culture change. I am passionate about creating positive change by designing more efficient processes and providing empowering education to staff and patients. I did consider changing my career entirely and re-enrolled in university however, my priorities have changed to focus more on family, and as a result, I have decided to stay in nursing.
