(virtual).<\/li>\n<li>[2021\/12] Gene became an AIS Distinguished Member.<\/li>\n<li>[2021\/12] Gene served as Workshop Chair of KrAIS 2021.<\/li>\n<li>[2021\/12] Jaecheol presented our paper at WISE 2021 and KrAIS 2021.<\/li>\n<li>[2021\/11] Our group presented two papers at INFORMS DS 2021.<\/li>\n<li>[2021\/10] Gene served as <a href=\"https:\/\/connect.informs.org\/communities\/community-home\/digestviewer\/viewthread?MessageKey=c3ec0253-c30f-4f18-9e29-d39f1138f0af\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Program Chair of INFORMS DS 2021<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>[2021\/09] Gene&#8217;s paper was <a href=\"https:\/\/pubsonline.informs.org\/doi\/10.1287\/isre.2021.0998\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">published in <strong><em>Information Systems Research<\/em><\/strong><\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>[2021\/07] Xiaoke was admitted to the UBC MIS MSc program.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">[2021\/07\/01] Gene was promoted to Associate Professor with Tenure.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>[2021\/01] We had <a href=\"https:\/\/hdl.handle.net\/10125\/72160\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the 1st year of TAEM min-track<\/a> at HICSS 2021 (virtual).<\/li>\n<li>[2020\/12] Gene received the Best AE Award in ICIS 2020.<\/li>\n<li>[2020\/12] Gene received a grant ($80K) for value chain analysis from KISTI.<\/li>\n<li>[2020\/12] Gene&#8217;s paper was <a href=\"https:\/\/misq.umn.edu\/enhancing-social-media-analysis-with-visual-data-analytics-a-deep-learning-approach.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">published in <strong><em>MIS Quarterly<\/em><\/strong><\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>[2020\/11] Gene&#8217;s paper was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tandfonline.com\/doi\/full\/10.1080\/07421222.2020.1790185\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">published in the <strong><em>Journal of MIS<\/em><\/strong><\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>[2020\/10] Our group presented three papers at WITS 2020.<\/li>\n<li>[2020\/09] Gene&#8217;s paper was <a href=\"https:\/\/pubsonline.informs.org\/doi\/abs\/10.1287\/isre.2020.0921\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">published in <strong><em>Information Systems Research<\/em><\/strong><\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>[2020\/07] Jaecheol was admitted to the UBC MIS PhD program.<\/li>\n<li>[2020\/06] Gene received an SSHRC IDG ($53K) on incentivized reviews with Arslan Aziz.<\/li>\n<li>[2020\/05] Rui has received <a href=\"https:\/\/open.library.ubc.ca\/soa\/cIRcle\/collections\/ubctheses\/24\/items\/1.0395481\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">her Master&#8217;s 2019.<\/li>\n<li>[2019\/11] Myunghwan presented our paper at CIST 2019.<\/li>\n<li>[2019\/08] Yunsik received his PhD from UT Austin (supervisor: Andrew Whinston).<\/li>\n<li>[2019\/07] Myunghwan was admitted to the UBC MIS PhD program.<\/li>\n<li>[2019\/07] Victor received <a href=\"https:\/\/open.library.ubc.ca\/soa\/cIRcle\/collections\/ubctheses\/24\/items\/1.0389950\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">his Master&#8217;s degree<\/a> (co-supervised with Hasan Cavusoglu).<\/li>\n<li>[2019\/06] Gene received an SSHRC IDG ($55K) on litigation prediction with Xin Zheng.<\/li>\n<li>[2018\/05] Gene received the CUS Teaching Excellence Award.<\/li>\n<li>[2018\/03] Gene received a grant ($12K) on cyber risk prediction from KIRI.<\/li>\n<li>[2017\/12] <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/genemoolee\/2018\/07\/19\/misinformation-optimal-detect-time-working-paper\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Yunsik and Gene&#8217;s paper<\/a> received the Best Paper Award at KrAIS 2017.<\/li>\n<li>[2017\/12] <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/genemoolee\/2018\/07\/19\/misinformation-optimal-detect-time-working-paper\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Yunsik and Gene&#8217;s paper<\/a> received the Best WIP Runner-Up Award at WITS 2017.<\/li>\n<li>[2017\/12] Our group presented three papers at WITS 2017.<\/li>\n<li>[2017\/11] Gene was appointed as Guest AE of <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/genemoolee\/files\/2017\/07\/jais_cfp_2017.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><em>JAIS<\/em><\/strong> Special Issue on Addressing Societal Challenges through Analytics<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>[2017\/10] Yunsik presented our paper at CIST 2017.<\/li>\n<li>[2017\/09] Gene&#8217;s paper was <a href=\"https:\/\/link.springer.com\/article\/10.1007\/s10551-017-3720-2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">published in the <strong><em>Journal of Business Ethics<\/em><\/strong><\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>[2017\/08] Gene received an NSF Grant ($422K) on cybersecurity risk measurement with Andrew Whinston and Shu He.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span
