My Top 3 Favourite Features of HootSuite

In commemoration of eBiz UBC’s visit to HootSuite this Friday, I thought I’d write a post about a few of the things I love about HootSuite. To make it more relevant to most people, I’ve only included features that are available with HootSuite’s free account.

1. Scheduled Tweets
Social Media can be an overwhelming space at times. Who has time to post 5,6, maybe even 10 times a day? Thanks to HootSuite’s scheduling option, it’s easy to organize content and have posts set to fire off without you being there for it.

2. Monitoring
HootSuite makes it easy to monitor online conversations that matter to you. By building streams tailored with relevant keywords, you can see what’s being said about your brand, your CEO, or even your competitors.

3. Analytics
HootSuite has a ton of analytical power built in. Unfortunately, you can’t harness most of it with a free account. But there is one cool feature that allows you to track what happens to that link you just posted through your social meda channels. Ever wonder how many people have clicked on it, when they clicked on it, or where they’re from? That’s what HootSuite’s ow.ly report can provide. I find this data really useful when figuring out what content or tagline resonated with my following(s).

These features are really just skimming the surface of what is an incredible powerful social media tool. I encourage you to get stuck in, play around and see what HootSuite can do for you!
