I’m studying psychology at UBC. I chose to go into psychology because I was interested in learning how the human mind works (what motivates people, what causes them to behave in certain ways). I also found it fascinating to learn about the different mental disorders people can have and some of the biological processes behind it. Learning psychology allows me to participate in several different conversations across different fields of study because psychology is involved in almost everything as it explains many things about human behaviour. Psychology can help to explain identity and self-expression and also has a role in culture, social interaction, etc.

By the end of this year I will have taken these PSYC courses in additions to many other courses outside of my major.
