List of Three Potential Big Ideas

Three potential ideas that I intend to possibly center my project around include:

1. Environmental activism with a focus on pipelines

• I would like to focus on the Kinder Morgan Pipeline and other related piplines, relating to the pushback received from First Nations communities before and after the passing or failing of its legislation.

1. Indigenous Feminism

• I hope to center this topic around intersectionality and the “double marginalization” of Indigenous women in Canada, with a focus on the issue of continuous missing and murdered Indigenous women.

1. Athletics

• With this topic, I plan to talk about the North American Indigenous Games, as well as Janice Forsyth (an athlete, professor and author) to highlight the accomplishments and importance of Indigenous sport in Canada.
