I am currently in my second year at UBC, with the intention of majoring in anthropology. As mentioned in my About page, I plan to go to attend law school after my undergraduate degree and have still yet to decide on a specific career path.

I have a great passion for human rights and social justice, and hope to incorporate that into my career in the future. I have chosen to study anthropology because not only does it encapsulate many different fields of interest, but I believe that cultural difference is at the heart of many forms of prejudice and inequality, and hope to use anthropology as a tool in recognizing and celebrating difference rather than alienating it moving forward.

Having just recently decided on my major, I have had the pleasure of taking many different courses the past two years – most of which including political science, sociology, and gender, race, sexuality and social justice. These courses have opened my eyes to larger critical conversations about identity, gender, culture, and social structure, and I hope to draw from not only anthropology but every course that I’ve taken moving forward with my degree and my career.
