In her interview, she speaks about her journey moving to Canada, and as a writer. She started writing at a young age in college, where she wrote for the school magazine. Ms. Dhillon later went to college in Firozpur to study Education. Dhillon speaks about her struggles in Canada and how she first started her career as a substitute teacher. \u00a0She then describes her development as a writer, and how she relates her books and poems to real-world events, finding it an obligation to educate people. Dhillon also was the president of the Toastmistress club and also won an award for best speaker. One of her books, \u201cDusk to Dawn,\u201d narrates the story of the partition of India and Pakistan, and the violence that had occurred at the time.
