Students’ going to western countries for learning is gradually becoming a trend. Some billionaires donate money to set up scholarship funds so as to assist students in studying abroad. This passage introduces two individuals, Mr.Schwarzman and Ms. Zhang, who gave money to send Chinese students to the United State. Mr. Schwarzman gave $100 billion dollars to start a one-year graduate program at one of the Beijing Universities modeled on the Rhodes scholar program at Oxford, while Ms. Zhang donated $100 million from her company’s charitable foundation to American universities to bankroll need-based scholarships for Chinese students. Although they donated money in different means, they have similar purpose—helping Chinese students to study in the United State.
Actually, there are so many opulence families exist in China and it will be a good way to appeal them to take part in this program and donate part of their money to students who have gaps between their educational aspirations and their means. Because through this way, not only can Chinese students gain opportunities to get better educations, but it offers a chance for developing China to communicate with the rest of the world and may enhance the relationship between China and the United State at the same time.
