Business ethics is always a topic that many people care about. In this passage, it talks about a common issue for most employees: the blurred lines between company time and their own time. Employees have lot of work to do everyday and most of them can not finish them during the company time so they will bring work home and use their own computers or other supplies to complete. Therefore, is it reasonable for them to use the companies’ tools for their personal need? This passage gives a good case study about this question.
Actually, as an ethical employee, you should not use company properties, including time, to do your personal things because the company hires you and give you stuff to do things related to your work. However, it does not mean you can not try other work but the premises are that you should use your personal time to do your personal stuff and what you do does not hurt your company.
