Has anyone noticed how intrusive internet advertisement is? Since most advertisements are tracked by clicks, it gives webmasters and web designers a lot of incentive to hide links into places where people may accidentally click them rather than create legitimate interest.
In the past sites had banners for stores that carried pertinent stock to the article or the matter at hand. A review of the iPod might have a link to the Apple Store or the Best Buy search results for iPod, but nowadays it is dominated by either Google Adsense ads or maybe those ridiculous animated flash ads that have the readers click at the targets.

The issue is that ads on the internet have become so hated that we completely ignore them. Everyone has things like AdBlock to just filter Google Adsense out, we automatically close popups, and if we accidentally click a link we hit the back button before we even see the site. Yet Google Adsense is still paying out between a dime to a quarter for every click.
It doesn’t add value to the product, nor does it give extra information for users, it isn’t even appealing to look at anymore. Google Adsense rarely has relevant ads, and more or less webmasters are starting to embed the ads in places that users will accidentally click rather than click into in genuine interest. As a result, advertisers are expecting more clicks, which furthers the cycle where webmasters are forced to place them in even more intrusive places.
I find now that the best advertisement on the internet is real life experiences, vouches and so on. But retailers are ruining that too as they are spamming forums and blogs with random comments pretending to be normal users with testimonials.
I’m just wondering if anyone feels the same way? Everyone I know has already developed a sort of filter unconsciously against all internet ads, and at this rate, it’s really losing its purpose fast.
