Hi, my name is Anthony and I am a 2nd year Arts student with an intended major in Social Work. I would like to attain a Bachelor’s of Social Work (BSW) by 2020. I was born and raised not too far from UBC in Coquitlam, British Columbia. After graduating high school I spent seven months in Europe attending Bible School and volunteering at youth and refugee camps. Since then I have enjoyed studying a wide range of subjects at UBC from Food and Consumer Ethics to Social Welfare to Cultural Anthropology under the renowned explorer and author Wade Davis. In my studies I draw on my ability to understand underlying philosophies and communicate an intersection of ideas from the social sciences and humanities. I am passionate about people, and seek a career in counselling of some sort. I have been fortunate enough to be involved in a number of environments of which I have seen various styles of leadership and societal interaction. In these environments I frequently assess relationships; their benefits and shortcomings, and how they can be improved.
