Here I will outline one personal extracurricular activity that occupies much of my time and thought.
I am currently the Community Group Co-ordinator at Ethos. Ethos is the Young Adult Ministry of CAChurch. I have been serving as the co-leader of Community Groups since September 2016. My role, alongside my co-leader, has several aspects. The core pieces of our role is to choose and coordinate leaders for the home groups, equip the leaders to shepherd their attendees well, and to ensure the health of Community Groups. The first year in this position my partner and I were scrambling to figure out what we were doing and if we were doing it correctly. After finding our ground the first year, we developed a good dynamic, understanding one another’s strengths and weakness, allowing us to lead to our full potential. This allowed me to focus on where I thrive, which is discerning a functional structure for Community Groups and providing the leaders with support and resources.
This has greatly developed my leadership and organizational skills. I have a much larger grasp on the way communities and organizations interact as well. My speaking is greatly improving alongside my development of inspiring a vision among a group of people.
I am thankful for the people that have allowed me to develop my skills in this area and provided me with constructive criticism and encouragement.
