Preliminary Plan

An ePortfolio is a platform in which a user can display their skills, accomplishments, and work in an engaging way. While blogs might be a medium through which one shares their thoughts or ideas, an ePortfolio allows for much more creativity, in that you do not only explain your ideas, you display them. In writing stories, one is always told to show their story, to walk their reader through the experience rather than telling them it. Similarly, ePortfolio’s are an opportunity to display one’s prominent works, whether audibly, visually, or written in a paper.

An ePortfolio would contain samples of one’s work. This will look different depending on one’s discipline of focus, but would generally involve either papers, videos, or pictures. One might also add a CV and a page explaining the focus behind their work; why they are passionate about their projects.

I will commence my ePortfolio this year by sharing an assignment in which I discuss an ethical case study through an elementary philosophical lens. My ePortfolio will also include an about me section in which I outline my future career goals and the stage of that of which I am at. My ePortfolio will display at least one of my philosophy papers as well as some other form of work that I have completed this year. I would like my ePortfolio to display my philosophical writing ability alongside my critical thinking skills. After this year I would like to continually update my ePortfolio as a way to track my progress as a thinker and writer. My ePortfolio will hopefully become dually beneficial in the case that I apply to speak at conferences or apply for Grad School.
