Here you can find information about our monthly caucuses, including the topics, stimulus texts (with links), and discussion questions that we prepare ahead of each meeting.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

What happens during the Antiracist Caucuses meetings?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The topic of the upcoming meeting and a couple of stimulus texts are circulated within the department a couple of weeks before the meeting. In the beginning of the meeting, the topic is introduced by the facilitating faculty member. We then divide ourselves into the caucuses \u2013 an IBPOC (Indigenous, Black, and people of color) caucus and a White caucus \u2013 and discuss the topic and texts for about 40 minutes. An assisting graduate student takes notes of the discussion in each caucus. Afterwards, the assisting graduate students summarize the discussions for both caucuses and the whole group engages in a short discussion.<\/span><\/p>\n
