{"id":1,"date":"2010-09-09T18:43:17","date_gmt":"2010-09-09T18:43:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/antoinemasse\/?p=1"},"modified":"2010-10-08T11:15:47","modified_gmt":"2010-10-08T19:15:47","slug":"hello-world","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/antoinemasse\/2010\/09\/09\/hello-world\/","title":{"rendered":"Haynesworth Controversy in Washington D.C."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A little over a year ago, the Washington Redskins (football team in the NFL) signed defensive\u00a0tackle\u00a0Albert Haynesworth, who was regarded as one of the most dominant players in the league, \u00a0to a 7 year, 100 million contract. After a disappointing season in 2009, the Redskins decided to completely replace the coaching staff, including the defensive coordinator, for the 2010 season.<\/p>\n<p>The new defensive coordinator, Jim Haslett, decided to switch the defensive scheme from a 4-3 defense to a 3-4 defense. This is where the conflict begins. Haynesworth signed with the Redskins to play defensive tackle on a 4-3 defense, a position he\u00a0excelled\u00a0at. Suddenly, because of a coaching staff change, he will be forced to play a different position he is not comfortable with.<\/p>\n<p>Because of this change, Haynesworth has decided to not attend the\u00a0mandatory\u00a0training camps before the start of the 2010 season when it is crucial for the players to attend after an\u00a0embarrassing\u00a02009 season and a new coaching staff.<\/p>\n<p>Is it unethical for Haynesworth to boycott the Redskins&#8217; training camp after signing a 100 million contract a year earlier?
