My name is Yong Liu and I am the course leader of Forest resource management and protection.I am currently a professor in the Faculty of Forestry at Beijing Forestry University, China. I received my master degree at University of Idaho, USA, and PhD degree at Beijing Forestry University. My major research interests include plantation establishment and nursery techniques. In this course, I am going to teach Module 1, Topic 1 Principles of silviculture, and Topic 2 Basic Practices of Silviculture. We have several instructors for this course, I would like to introduce them to you one by one as the following:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"clear: both;\">\n<div style=\"width: 110px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full\" src=\"\/apfnet06\/files\/2014\/12\/Junchang_Liu.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"100\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Instructor: Junchang Liu<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Dr. Junchang Liu is a professor in School of Economics and Management at Beijing Forestry University, China. He obtained his PhD degree from the same university. His research interests include econometrics and economic management of forestry. In this course, he is going to teach Module 4, Topic 2 Economic Analysis for Forest Management.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"clear: both;\">\n<div style=\"width: 110px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full\" src=\"\/apfnet06\/files\/2014\/12\/Jun_Yang.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"100\" height=\"\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Instructor: Jun Yang<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Dr. Jun Yang is an associate professor in Tsinghua University, China. He received his PhD degree from University of California at Berkeley, USA. His major research interests include forestry, ecosystem ecology and remote sensing. In this course, he is going to teach Module 1, Topic 3 New Techniques and Trends in Silviculture.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"clear: both;\">\n<div style=\"width: 110px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full\" src=\"\/apfnet06\/files\/2014\/12\/Yujun_Sun.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"100\" height=\"\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Instructor: Yujun Sun<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Dr. Yujun Sun is a professor in College of Forestry at Beijing Forestry University. He obtained his PhD in forest management from Beijing Forestry University. His major research interest is on sustainable forest and natural resource management. In this course, he is going to teach Module 2, Topic 1 Forest Inventory and Monitoring.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"clear: both;\">\n<div style=\"width: 110px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full\" src=\"\/apfnet06\/files\/2014\/12\/Qijing_Liu.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"100\" height=\"\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Instructor: Qijing Liu<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Dr. Qijing Liu is a professor in College of Forestry at Beijing Forestry University. He received his first PhD in ecology from Institute of Applied Ecology, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1989, and his second PhD in remote sensing and applied optics from Chiba University, Japan, in 2001. His research fields include plant community ecology, vegetation remote sensing, and forest carbon cycle modelling. In this course, he is going to teach Module 2, Topic 3 Carbon Accounting and Monitoring.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"clear: both;\">\n<div style=\"width: 110px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full\" src=\"\/apfnet06\/files\/2014\/12\/Yali_Wen.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"100\" height=\"\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Instructor: Yali Wen<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Dr. Yali Wen is currently the professor of forest economics and policy, and the Deputy Dean of the School of Economics and Management at Beijing Forestry University. He obtained his PhD degree from the same university. He has he has been teaching the course of Forest Economics for more than 20 years. His research interests are new frontiers of forest economics, forest policy evaluation, and economic analysis on forest economy development. In this course, he is going to teach Module 4, Topic 1 Forest Resource Policy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"clear: both;\">\n<div style=\"width: 110px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full\" src=\"\/apfnet06\/files\/2014\/12\/Juan_Shi.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"100\" height=\"\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Instructor: Juan Shi<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Dr. Juan Shi is an associate professor in College of Forestry at Beijing Forestry University. She obtained her PhD degree in forest protection from Beijing Forestry University. Her research mainly focuses on the resistance and resilience mechanism of forest ecosystem to invasive alien species (IAS). In this course, she is going to teach Module 3, Topic 1 Forest Pest Control, and Topic 2 Manage Invasive Species.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"clear: both;\">\n<div style=\"width: 110px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full\" src=\"\/apfnet06\/files\/2014\/12\/Jinghui_Meng.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"100\" height=\"\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Instructor: Jinghui Meng<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Dr. Jinghui Meng is an associate professor. He obtained his master degree at Georg-August University G\u00f6ttingen, Germany, and PhD degree at the Chinese Academy of Forestry, China. His research mainly focuses on forest resource conservation and forest monitoring. In this course, he is going to teach Module 2, Topic 2 Forest Yield Modelling.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"clear: both;\">\n<div style=\"width: 110px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full\" src=\"\/apfnet06\/files\/2014\/12\/Xiaodong_Liu.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"100\" height=\"\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Instructor: Xiaodong Liu<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Dr. Xiaodong Liu is an associate professor in College of Forestry at Beijing Forestry University. He received his PhD at Northeast Forestry University, China. His research interest is on forest fire management. In this course, he is going to teach Module 3, Topic 3 Forest Fire Management.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"clear: both;\">\n<div style=\"width: 110px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full\" src=\"\/apfnet06\/files\/2014\/12\/Yi_Xie.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"100\" height=\"\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Instructor: Yi Xie<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Dr. Yi Xie is a Deputy Professor of forest economics and policy, and the Deputy Director of Department of Forest Economics of the School of Economics and Management of Beijing Forestry University. He obtained his PhD degree from the same university. His extensive research interests include economic analysis of forest management, forest tenure reform, and forest land market development. In this course, he is going to Module 4, Topic 3 Theory and Practice of Forest Property Right System.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Well, you can see we are a big team. I can only introduce each one very briefly.
