Work closely with program staff and community partners to facilitate student learning and community building within the Trek Program. Furthermore, help support Trek Students develop deeper self-awareness, citizenship, and critical thinking.

UBC Liaison / Fun Cart Volunteer Coordinator
Interview applicants to ensure that they are well suited to work with children. Furthermore, provide the crucial training needed for volunteers to be fully prepared for encounters with children in a hospital setting. As a part of this role, took over the responsibility of one of the big volunteering programs, which runs through the entire hospital.
BC Children’s Hospital Advocates of UBC

Founder and President
Founded this club at UBC. This Club is affiliated with BC Children’s Hospital and is dedicated to fundraising, raising awareness about how people can help, and referring interested students for volunteering positions. Help host various events around campus and lead executive meetings. Collaborating with an elite group of executives allows the organization of successful club events all over campus.

Clinic Volunteer
-Fun Cart: Work alongside 3 other volunteers to entertain children by offering them toys, games, and company as they wait in the outpatient clinics. The clinic visits range from ophthalmology to renal dialysis. The children interacted with range from birth until the age of 18. Children with disabilities are frequently encountered in this role.
-Child Life: Provide one-on-one entertainment to children suffering from dire illnesses. Most of these children are restricted to isolation rooms. Spending time with these children on a long-term basis allows for the development of meaningful and long-lasting relationships.

A leader in the newly altered program where current UBC students make the transition into university for new to UBC students easier and more welcoming.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Petits Génies Childcare & Preschool

Co-Founder and Admin
Founded this childcare and preschool on January of 2014. Petits Génies is a licensed preschool and childcare with a French Immersion Program. Been on the administration team of the childcare since its induction. Often help out with various activities within the facility. Work closely with staff to help organize activities for the children and make sure to maintain a safe environment for the children to learn. Furthermore, currently responsible for being a sports teacher at the childcare. Have always loved being an athlete and wish to help others discover their interests and potentials in sports. During the time at this childcare, have dealt with a few children who were diagnosed with Autism. Was a great experience being able to work with these children and adjusting techniques used to be more inclusive and welcoming. Passion for working with children has only grown since the creation of the childcare.

Completed assigned calls in a timely manner. Took surveys on the provincial elections and guided voters to the correct polling locations. Furthermore, trained and oriented new workers.

Assistant Coach
Took on the role of an assistant coach at Port Moody Secondary School, coaching and mentoring young and inexperienced wrestlers. Throughout several Christmas camps held at the school, utilized provincial wrestling experience to coach kids of various ages on their road to provincial recognition.

Co-Founder and President of a Corporations Canada certified non-for-profit organization aimed at helping children who are sick and have disabilities get more active. Help host various organized sporting events for the general public to fundraise money towards implementing various adaptive sporting events in hospitals for the promotion of active fitness.
