Visual journals serve lots of purposes in the classroom. It is good to have students doing them daily for personal reasons as well as for educational purposes. Visual journals allow students to express their thoughts and feeling in a productive way. This could be done daily in the morning or as something for students to do when they feel they need to. This could help students with problem solving if they are able to express their feelings first and then talk about it. This would also be beneficial for students who are more disruptive during class time and cant sit still. Being able to pull out their visual journals and draw while they listen may help them stay on task and not be disruptive to their neighbors.
