{"id":261,"date":"2021-08-18T05:43:40","date_gmt":"2021-08-18T12:43:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/artsofattentiveness\/?page_id=261"},"modified":"2021-08-26T09:05:41","modified_gmt":"2021-08-26T16:05:41","slug":"example-self-assessment","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/artsofattentiveness\/assignments\/attentive-repetition\/example-self-assessment\/","title":{"rendered":"Example: Self Assessment"},"content":{"rendered":"<div data-contents=\"true\">\n<p>Each week of your <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/artsofattentiveness\/assignments\/attentive-repetition\/\">Attentive Repetition<\/a> practice (at least two <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/artsofattentiveness\/terminology\/#walk\">walks<\/a>) you will assign yourself a number grade from 0 to 3, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/artsofattentiveness\/assignments\/attentive-repetition\/rubric\/\">the rubric<\/a>. <strong>Weeks are labeled<\/strong> (Week 2 through Week 12), <strong>grades are assigned for each week<\/strong>, and <strong>a self-assessment statement is made below each week<\/strong> explaining your choice of grade. The notes below each week will be helpful at the end of the semester when writing your <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/artsofattentiveness\/assignments\/self-assessment-reflection\/\">Self-assessment Reflection<\/a> The grades you assign here will be added up to account for 30% of your final course grade. Week 12 is a bonus week, though the maximum total grade is 30.<\/p>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"552og\" data-offset-key=\"15dlc-0-0\">\n<h5 data-offset-key=\"15dlc-0-0\">Week 2 (Days 3 &amp; 4)<\/h5>\n<div data-offset-key=\"15dlc-0-0\"><strong>Assigned grade: 2<\/strong><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li data-offset-key=\"15dlc-0-0\">Just getting in to the swing of things. I felt a bit distracted throughout the walk, though was usually trying to tune in.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5 class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"15dlc-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"15dlc-0-0\">Week 3 (Days 5 &amp; 6) <\/span><\/h5>\n<div class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"15dlc-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"15dlc-0-0\"><strong>Assigned grade: 3<\/strong><br \/>\n<\/span><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li data-offset-key=\"15dlc-0-0\">It&#8217;s starting to feel good going for these walks and perceiving new happenings each time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"552og\" data-offset-key=\"4s5kh-0-0\">\n<h5 class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"4s5kh-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"4s5kh-0-0\">Week 4 (Days 7 &amp; 8) <\/span><\/h5>\n<div class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"4s5kh-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"4s5kh-0-0\"><strong>Assigned grade: 0<\/strong><br \/>\n<\/span><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li data-offset-key=\"4s5kh-0-0\">I just couldn&#8217;t get into it this week. I prioritized other things and did not make time to go out for attentive repetition practice.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"552og\" data-offset-key=\"f6jme-0-0\">\n<h5 class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"f6jme-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"f6jme-0-0\">Week 5 (Days 9 &amp; 10) <\/span><\/h5>\n<div class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"f6jme-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"f6jme-0-0\"><strong>Assigned grade: 1<\/strong><br \/>\n<\/span><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li data-offset-key=\"f6jme-0-0\">My phone rang, it was my mom, we talked while I walked and I made fun of a little child wearing a funny hat, about which I subsequently felt bad.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"552og\" data-offset-key=\"bspbi-0-0\">\n<h5 class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"bspbi-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"bspbi-0-0\">Week 6 (Days 11 &amp; 12) <\/span><\/h5>\n<div class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"bspbi-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"bspbi-0-0\"><strong>Assigned grade: 3<\/strong><br \/>\n<\/span><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li data-offset-key=\"bspbi-0-0\">I felt engaged this week. On Tuesday I noticed a HUGE crack in the concrete that somehow I never knew about before!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"552og\" data-offset-key=\"4p1ke-0-0\">\n<h5 class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"4p1ke-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"4p1ke-0-0\">Week 7 (Days 13 &amp; 14) <\/span><\/h5>\n<div class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"4p1ke-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"4p1ke-0-0\"><strong>Assigned grade: 3<\/strong><br \/>\n<\/span><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li data-offset-key=\"4p1ke-0-0\">My first walk started out hard due to distractions at home, but once I got out I was able to redirect my thoughts to focus on the practice. The second walk of the week went pretty well.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"552og\" data-offset-key=\"9bcqc-0-0\">\n<h5 class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"9bcqc-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"9bcqc-0-0\">Week 8 (Days 15 &amp; 16) <\/span><\/h5>\n<div class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"9bcqc-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"9bcqc-0-0\"><strong>Assigned grade: 2<\/strong><br \/>\n<\/span><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li data-offset-key=\"9bcqc-0-0\">Hmm, not my best.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"552og\" data-offset-key=\"2ib12-0-0\">\n<h5 class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"2ib12-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"2ib12-0-0\">Week 9 (Days 17 &amp; 18) <\/span><\/h5>\n<div class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"2ib12-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"2ib12-0-0\"><strong>Assigned grade: 3<\/strong><br \/>\n<\/span><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li data-offset-key=\"2ib12-0-0\">Alright, back on track! I ate some nice chocolate before leaving for my walk one day, which means I brought a wonderful flavour out with me to accompany my other sensory engagement.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"552og\" data-offset-key=\"7k805-0-0\">\n<h5 class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"7k805-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"7k805-0-0\">Week 10 (Days 19&amp; 20)<br \/>\n<\/span><\/h5>\n<div class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"7k805-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"7k805-0-0\"><strong>Assigned grade: 1<\/strong><br \/>\n<\/span><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li data-offset-key=\"7k805-0-0\">Lackluster effort. I went home early.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"552og\" data-offset-key=\"fujs1-0-0\">\n<h5 class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"fujs1-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"fujs1-0-0\">Week 11 (Days 21 &amp; 22)\u00a0 <\/span><\/h5>\n<div class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"fujs1-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"fujs1-0-0\"><strong>Assigned grade: 3<\/strong><br \/>\n<\/span><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li data-offset-key=\"fujs1-0-0\">Finished this walk with a bang! I saw sandhill cranes flying overhead and felt the winds change on my skin.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5>Week 12 (Day 23 &amp; 24: bonus!)<\/h5>\n<p><strong>Assigned grade: 2<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>These walks feel normal at this point. I can tune in to my sensory apparatus and notice much more than before.
