About ASA BC

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to provide a healthy environment for children to improve overall health and fitness while incorporating new skills in team sports. “After School Athletics BC” aims to help children develop physically as well as socially through well designed fitness programs and experienced youth sport coaching. In our programs, children aged 5-12 will be taught fundamental sports skills and concepts from four popular team sports: baseball, soccer, volleyball and basketball. Our exercise design focuses on using large muscle groups and gross motor skills that all children are capable of doing. These include body weight resistance training and moderate cardiovascular training. Our programs are offered through the public school system of Kelowna BC and we are planning to expand to more municipalities through out the province.

“After School Athletics BC” was founded in late 2012 by Sophia Rose, Kingston Wang and Tyler Cultum. The business began with an idea to directly affect the rising epidemic of childhood obesity by providing a fun, social and athletic skill building environment for todays youth. The ASA BC program uses the strong coaching backgrounds and athletic educations of our trainers to provide the best possible learning environment for the children in our program. The outcome of ASA BC has been a successful sports skills and exercise instruction program that has helped children become more skillful, confident and active. We believe that our program can make a difference for our youth today.
