My name is Andrea Shearer (she/her/hers) and I am a new Teacher-Librarian at a secondary school in Richmond, BC, where I have taught for 16 years.  Before becoming a TL, I taught English and Social Studies and led an enriched program.  I have loved so much about being a teacher including sponsoring my school’s hip-hop dance team and taking students on some pretty amazing trips on Vancouver Island, around the American West, and to Ottawa and Quebec.  My favourite things in the Library are helping students connect with the fiction they love and helping them find real worlds that fascinate them.  Literacy of all kinds is the core of what I hope to achieve.
