Hello world!
Hello everyone, thanks for taking the time to read my blog. Since this is my first blog as a GRS student I figure I would tell you a little about myself. My name is Ashley Canavan and I am a 26 year old Vancouver native. Before getting into the GRS program I did a few years as a history major and then I almost completed my forestry degree before I realized it just was not what I wanted to do with my life. I am very happy in GRS and LFS so far, I am really enjoying the community aspect of the entire faculty and you can usually find me munching on one of the delicious community dinners before class on Wednesday night. For my personal interests during the summer you can usually find me at Spanish Banks failing miserably at skimboarding or planning a road trip and during the winter you can find me at hunched over some books or watching movies (I briefly considered a film major at one point).
As for the more relevant information pertaining to GRS, I have picked Human Ecology for my resource with Western Europe as my region. I am planning to attend University College Dublin in Dublin, Ireland next fall for my exchange if all goes according to plan. I’m quite excited to attend as my father was born in Ireland and I have half of my family there which I have never met. I have very much enjoyed this first semester as a GRS student and I am looking forward to what the future will bring me.
